Google Adds “Request a Quote” Button to Business Listings in Search Results

Google has now added the ability to add a big blue “REQUEST A QUOTE” button on eligible listings in its search results.  When you search for a business name from a desktop, the button will appear (if you’ve enabled it!)

It’s a great way to get more leads into your Business directly from the SERP (Search Engine Results Page).

At OMDIGI Group, we’ve already claimed ours and it is super easy to do.

You’ll need to first download the Google My Business App, which if you haven’t got it already, is a much easier way to manage your listings. Then open the location you would like to manage, tap <Customers> then tap <Messages> and tap <Turn On>.

  1. Open Google My Business App
  2. Open the location you want to manage
  3. Tap Customers
  4. Tap Messages
  5. Tap Turn On

You should receive a notification within a few minutes that your listing has been updated.

When someone uses the “Request A Quote” function, you will receive a notification on your phone and can respond easily through a chat through the GMB App. Your prospective Customers will receive the chat in their Google Maps, which the guys in the office felt was a little weird at first.

It also wasn’t obvious how they would get back to the chat once they had left.  But if you click on the 3 bars to the left of the search bar in Google Maps, you will find the “Messages” menu item and you can read through them there.

It’s early days with this feature but it’s pretty cool and we’re excited to see how this increases the leads into our business and the businesses we work with.
